Job summary

V-SWIFT PTE. LTD. in Singapore is seeking a School Science Lab Support staff to assist teaching and learning activities, prepare resources, maintain lab records, and ensure equipment is in good working condition.

You will conduct stock takes, manage disposals, keep storerooms clean, and support safety procedures, reporting incidents to the HOD. Prior experience in a school environment is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimally N Level or equivalent.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office software applications.
• Must be able to learn new IT skills.
• Prefer experience in Science laboratory management or resource support, especially in a school environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide teaching and learning support such as preparation of resources/materials for Science laboratory activities, enrichment programmes and competitions including cleaning up after laboratory lessons and when required.
• Label and maintain records of existing and new Science teaching and learning materials and laboratory apparatus.
• Ensure laboratory equipment, materials and specimens are in good working conditions.
• Conduct stock-take at least twice a year.
• Assist to update stock records and breakage records to initiate ordering of replacements when necessary.
• Dispose of waste materials such as sharp waste objects and chemicals properly.
• Carry out housekeeping of the Science laboratories and storerooms to keep them clean and conducive for lessons.
• Ensure student safety in Science rooms.
• Record and report incidents to Science HOD and maintain a laboratory incident log book.
• Replenish laboratory materials and ensure first-aid boxes are well stocked.
• Check safety devices like emergency eye-washers, showers and fire extinguishers are working.
• Do filing and general cleaning of equipment.
• Perform any duties assigned by the HODs and Level Representatives.
