Job summary

V-SWIFT PTE. LTD. seeks a dedicated Science Laboratory Support staff to assist in preparing resources and materials for laboratory activities, enrichment programmes and competitions.

You will label and maintain records of materials and apparatus, and ensure equipment is safe and functional to support teaching and learning. You will perform regular stock-takes, update records, dispose of waste safely, and keep labs clean while ensuring student safety.

Qualifications

• Minimum N Level or equivalent.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office software applications.
• Must be able to learn new IT skills.
• Candidates should preferably possess Science laboratory management or resource support experience, with experience within a school environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare resources/materials for Science laboratory activities, enrichment programmes and competitions; including cleanup after lessons.
• Label and maintain records of existing and new Science teaching materials and laboratory apparatus.
• Ensure laboratory equipment, materials and specimens are in good working condition.
• Conduct stock-take at least twice a year.
• Assist to update stock and breakage records to initiate ordering of replacements.
• Dispose of waste materials such as sharp objects and chemicals safely.
• Housekeeping of the Science laboratories and storerooms; keep areas clean and conducive for lessons.
• Ensure student safety in Science rooms and report incidents to HOD; maintain a laboratory incident log book.
• Replenish laboratory materials and ensure first-aid boxes are well equipped.
• Check that safety devices (eye-washers, showers, extinguishers) are functioning.
• Carry out filing and general cleaning of equipment.
• Perform any duties assigned by HODs and Level Representatives.
