Job summary

Seacare Manpower Services Pte Ltd is seeking a Laboratory Assistant to open/secure lab facilities, keep spaces clean, and assist with preparing apparatus and reagents for science lessons. You will support STEM instructors and ensure safety protocols are followed.

The role requires basic reading/writing in English, ability to handle chemicals safely, and at least 1 year of lab experience. The position is on-site in Singapore with a 1-year contract and standard school hours.

Qualifications

• Read and write simple English required.
• Able to handle chemicals safely and follow safety rules.
• Familiarity with basic laboratory safety procedures.
• At least 1 year of laboratory experience preferred, in schools or colleges.

Responsibilities

• Open and secure laboratory doors and windows to maintain safety and security.
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of laboratory workspaces and equipment.
• Assist with preparing apparatus, equipment and chemical reagents for Science lessons.
• Clean, maintain and store laboratory apparatus and materials properly.
• Support STEM instructors and perform related duties as assigned.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing apparatus, equipment and chemical reagents for Science practical lessons.
• Clean, maintain and store laboratory apparatus, equipment and materials appropriately.
• Support STEM instructors and perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• Minimum primary school education, with the ability to read and write simple English.
• Able to handle chemicals, including acids and bases, safely.
• Basic knowledge of Science laboratory safety procedures.
• At least 1 year of relevant laboratory experience, preferably in a junior college environment.

Duration/Working Hours:

1 year contract - opt to extend 1 year (Jan 2027 to Dec 2027)

Monday,Tuesday, Thursday and Friday: 8:00am to 5:15pm, inclusive of a 45mins lunch break*
Wednesday: 8:00am to 4:45pm, inclusive of a 45mins lunch break*
During examination periods, personnel must be able to start work at 7:00am. Time-off-in-lieu will be granted for additional hours worked beyond the stipulated working hours.
Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays

*If the personnel prefers to have 30mins lunch break, the working hours will be shortened by 15 mins per day.
