Job summary

Private Advertiser in Singapore seeks a Student Guidance Support Officer (SGSO) to work with school leaders and the School Development team to ensure a safe and respectful learning environment for all students and to run the approved school-based programme.

The role requires preferably a diploma or higher in counselling/educational psychology/social work or related fields, and at least 3 years’ experience in youth engagement and supporting students with social-emotional issues.

Qualifications

Diploma or higher in counselling, educational psychology, social work or related fields.
At least 3 years of relevant experience in youth engagement, especially with school-based contexts.

Responsibilities

Serve as first responder for student management incidents and safety of students.
De-escalate situations to maintain a safe learning environment and support teachers with behaviour and peer-relationship issues.
Lead investigations of student misconduct following school guidelines and recommend follow-up actions.
Conduct home visits and partner with external agencies to support preventive and restorative interventions.
Document findings accurately and maintain records of student interventions and ensure parity of care.
Provide administrative support and update student records in the school intranet.
