Job summary

MAXHUNT Resource Pte Ltd, on behalf of Juying Secondary School, seeks a Student Guidance Support Officer to ensure a safe, respectful learning environment and to run the approved school-based programme.

The role requires a diploma or higher in Counselling/Educational Psychology/Social Work or related fields, and at least 3 years of youth-engagement experience in a school setting, especially with students facing social-emotional or learning challenges.

Qualifications

• Preferably have a diploma or higher in Counselling, Educational Psychology, Social Work, or related fields.
• At least 3 years' experience in youth engagement within a school context and handling students with social-emotional issues.

Responsibilities

• Immediate support as first responder for student management incidents compromising safety.
• De-escalate situations to ensure a safe, conducive learning environment.
• Render immediate support to teachers in managing student behaviour and peer relationships.
• Lead investigations of misconduct and bullying in line with school policies.
• Discipline students with respect, and implement follow-up actions (detention, in-school suspension).
• Conduct Home visits to assess risky behaviours and support families.
• Coordinate with parents/guardians and external agencies as needed.
• Document case findings and maintain records; update intranet student records.
• Provide administrative support and assist with data collection for student interventions.
