Job summary

VINAYAK ENGINEERING & SERVICES PTE. LTD. in Singapore is seeking a Student Guidance Support Officer to assist in student management, safety incidents, and behavior support within a school setting.

The role involves collaboration with teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure a safe learning environment. The position requires a Diploma or higher, relevant certifications, and at least 3 years of youth engagement experience, preferably in schools.

Qualifications

• Diploma or higher qualification preferred.
• Qualifications/certification in Counselling, Educational Psychology, Social Work or related fields preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in youth engagement, preferably in a school environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide immediate support during student management and safety incidents.
• De-escalate student conflicts and behavioral issues.
• Assist teachers in managing student behavior and peer-relationship concerns.
• Conduct fact-finding and investigations into misconduct and bullying cases.
• Implement appropriate disciplinary and corrective actions in accordance with school policies.
• Conduct home visits and neighborhood patrols where required.
• Supervise students under Student Development Programmers.
• Engage parents/guardians on preventive and restorative interventions.
• Work with external agencies such as the Singapore Police Force, MSF and Family Service Centers when necessary.
• Monitor disciplinary trends and recommend proactive student development initiatives.
• Conduct interviews, review CCTV footage and document case findings.
• Maintain accurate student intervention records and update the school intranet.
• Provide administrative and operational support to the Student Development Team.
