Job summary

Siemens in Singapore invites ambitious students to join our vibrant international team as an intern contributing to industrial automation projects. You will gain hands-on experience across SCADA, networking, and IT/OT integration while working with engineers on real-world deployments.

This role requires actively pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Automation, or a related field, and a solid interest in industrial communication standards, TCP/IP, and basic SQL.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Automation Engineering, or related discipline.
• Knowledge of Industrial Communication Standards with a basic understanding of OPC UA and interoperability.
• Understanding of Networking Fundamentals including TCP/IP and basic industrial networking concepts.
• Strong Technical Documentation Skills to produce clear engineering records.
• Familiarity with Databases including MS SQL and basic querying.
• Exposure to SCADA software, industrial protocols (Modbus, MQTT), VMs or OT cybersecurity concepts.

Responsibilities

• Support SCADA system engineering: configuration, testing, and troubleshooting in project environments.
• Contribute to Industrial Network activities: assist network migrations and maintain connectivity and data integrity.
• Participate in FAT and SAT testing procedures and document outcomes clearly.
• Prepare clear, detailed technical documentation of tests, configurations, and deliverables.
• Assist IT/OT integration by implementing communication tech linking devices with enterprise systems.
• Collaborate with project teams and engineering stakeholders on large-scale automation and digitalization initiatives.

You'll make a difference by:

• Supporting SCADA System Engineering by assisting with the configuration, testing, and troubleshooting of SCADA platforms in a project environment.
• Contributing to Industrial Network Activities by supporting network migration efforts and helping maintain reliable system connectivity and data integrity.
• Executing Testing Procedures by participating in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) activities and documenting outcomes accurately.
• Creating Technical Documentation by preparing clear, detailed records of testing activities, system configurations, and project deliverables.
• Supporting IT/OT Integration by assisting with the implementation of communication technologies that connect industrial devices with enterprise systems.
• Collaborating with Project Teams by working closely with engineering stakeholders to support large-scale industrial automation and digitalization initiatives.

Your defining qualities:

• Currently Pursuing a Relevant Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Automation Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Knowledge of Industrial Communication Standards with a basic understanding of OPC UA and its role in enabling system interoperability.
• Understanding of Networking Fundamentals including TCP/IP, subnetting, and basic industrial networking concepts.
• Strong Technical Documentation Skills with the ability to produce clear, accurate, and professional engineering records.
• Familiarity with Databases including basic knowledge of MS SQL, data structures, and simple querying techniques.
• Exposure to Industrial Automation Technologies such as SCADA software, industrial protocols (e.g., Modbus, MQTT), virtual machines, or OT cybersecurity concepts.
