Job Description
We are seeking a highly driven Sales Director with expertise in silicon photonic chip applications to lead customer engagements, provide technical sales solutions, and grow strategic accounts. You will play a key role in bridging product capabilities with customer needs, contributing to business growth through consultative selling and collaboration with marketing and product teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Build strong technical knowledge of silicon photonic chip applications in data centers, sensors, and communication systems.
- Regularly engage with clients to understand their requirements and provide tailored consultation and solutions.
- Conduct market and competitor analysis to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities.
- Collect customer feedback and usage data to drive insights for product improvement and roadmap direction.
- Monitor contract execution, coordinate payment schedules, and prevent overdue collections.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to support product positioning, technical content development, and market visibility initiatives including participation in industry events, technical seminars, or customer workshops.
- Achieve individual sales targets and contribute to the growth and expansion of strategic customer accounts through long-term relationship management and solution-based selling.
Job Requirements
- Master’s degree or above in Optics, Photonics, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical discipline; background in optical communications or semiconductor technologies is strongly preferred.
- Proven experience in technical or solution-based sales, application engineering, or customer-facing roles within the silicon photonics, semiconductor, optical communication, or related high-tech industries.
- Strong hands-on understanding of silicon photonic devices, systems, and application environments, including experience supporting customers across telecom, datacom, data centre, or industrial use cases.
- Demonstrated ability to manage long sales cycles and complex B2B customer engagements involving technical evaluation, stakeholder coordination, and solution customisation.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a consultative mindset focused on identifying customer needs and delivering value-driven solutions.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and customer-oriented, with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
