Job summary

S & D CONTRACTOR PTE. LTD. is seeking an experienced EHS Officer to oversee safety and health on site in Singapore. You will implement the Safety and Health Management System, identify hazards, and apply control measures to protect workers.

You will lead daily toolbox talks, maintain PTW records, investigate incidents, and coordinate with project management to keep the site compliant with WSH Act and accreditations. Night shift flexibility and own transport are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety and health records per WSH Act and accreditation requirements.
• Administer records for ISO, OSHAS, BizSafe and audits.
• Implement and manage the SHMS; identify WSH hazards and apply controls.
• Provide technical safety assistance to site construction management.
• Brief Project Manager or team on EHS program status.
• Conduct daily EHS toolbox meetings and maintain PTW records.
• Promptly correct unsafe conditions or practices.
• Investigate accidents/incidents and prepare reports with corrective actions.
• Recommend Stop Work Orders when unsafe conditions arise.
• Identify environmental health irregularities and propose remedial measures.
• Inspect site facilities and equipment for EHS safety and health hazards.
• Participate in RM risk management activities and risk assessments.
• May be required to work night shifts; own transport preferred.

Job description

• To maintain safety and health in accordance with WSH Act and WSH legislative requirements.
• Responsible for administration of safety and health records according to the company's accreditation such as ISO, OSHAS and BizSafe requirements and preparation for audits.
• Responsible for implementation and administration of site Safety and Health Management System (SHMS), identification of WSH hazards, implementation of control measures, conduct Safety inspection and Safety committee meetings, update and reviewing of changes.
• To provide technical and professional safety assistance to the site construction management.
• To brief Project Manager or Project Team regularly on the execution status of the overall EHS program.
• To conduct daily EHS toolbox meeting, prepare and maintain PTW records.
• Promptly correct any unsafe condition or practice.
• To conduct accident or incident investigations and preparation of investigation reports, including the effective closures of all corrective or preventive actions.
• Recommend Stop Work Order to Project Manager when unsafe conditions arise, including to promptly correct any unsafe condition or safe work practice.
• Identify environmental health irregularities and recommend measures to rectify such irregularities.
• Inspect site to ensure all facilities and equipment relevant to the maintenance of environmental health are in proper working conditions and do not pose any environmental health hazard.
• Participate as a risk management team member in the site RM organization.
• Participate in risk assessment activities for site.
• Any other duties as may be assigned.
• May be required to do night shift
