Job summary

SH Design & Build Pte Ltd is seeking a Safety Officer to assist the WSH Manager in risk assessment and compliance across sites. You will help conduct safety inspections, coordinate training, and support safety campaigns to maintain statutory standards.

Applicants should hold an Advanced certificate in Workplace Safety & Health or related field, have at least 3 years of experience in construction, and be capable of night shifts when needed.

Qualifications

• Advanced certificate in Workplace Safety & Health or related field.
• Minimum 3 years in built environment or construction.
• Familiar with regulatory workplace safety requirements.
• Strong initiative, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Able to perform night shift.

Responsibilities

• Assist WSH Manager to identify and assess workplace risks.
• Conduct site safety inspections and enforce MOM Safety Acts.
• Assist in Safety Committee meetings and safety campaigns.
• Conduct daily toolbox talks highlighting safety issues.
• Supervise safety, health and environmental controls on sites.
• Maintain documentation, permits and licenses related to safety.
• Assist with periodic WSH cross inspections for compliance.
• Assist in safety training and briefings to ensure statutory compliance.
• Identify unsafe acts and promptly correct them.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job description

Job responsibilities:

• Assist the WSH Manager to identify and assess risks arising from the workplace.
• Conduct site safety inspection and enforce compliance on prevailing MOM Safety Acts and Regulations.
• Assist to conduct Safety Committee meetings, organize and promote safety events and campaign, etc.
• Conduct daily toolbox meetings to highlight safety issues.
• Supervise and attend to all issues related to workplace safety, health and environmental control.
• Ensure all documentation / permits / licenses related to work place safety, health and environmental control required by authorities and management are kept in order.
• Assist in conducting periodic WSH cross inspection for all sites to ensure compliance with government safety regulations and industry standards.
• Assist in conducting safety training / briefing such as familiarization on Risk Management’s standardize procedures to the respective site team to ensure safety awareness that the operations are safe and in compliance with statutory regulations and international standards / practices.
• Identify unsafe acts or practice and promptly correct any unsafe condition or practice.
• Any other duties that may be assigned.

Requirements:

• Advance certificate in Workplace Safety & Health/NITEC in Engineering (Environment, Health, Safety) or relevant field.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience in the built environment or construction sector.
• Familiar with regulatory requirements related to workplace safety and health, and all other aspects of safety
• Possess a high level of the initiative, strong interpersonal and communication skills.
