Job summary

Dyson seeks a Lead Project Manager for its New Product Development team, focusing on the Robot category. You will drive cross-functional programs from concept to prototype, aligning software, mechanical, and systems teams across Dyson offices to deliver innovative robotics solutions.

You will manage governance, vendor relationships, and risk tracking, while championing project delivery milestones and budget control. Strong Mandarin-English skills and travel flexibility are essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferable First or Second-Class Upper preferred).
Experience of agile working using Atlassian tools is desirable.
Experience working with external vendors, coordination across different team and complex cross-functional programmes is highly desirable.
Proven experience coordinating delivery across multiple Agile teams within a complex technology environment.
Preferred to have robotics development project management experience.
Experience working in a dynamic and innovative environment.
Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Advanced Certified ScrumMaster (A-CSM) or Certified Scrum Professional (CSP-SM) certified is preferred.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certified is preferred.
Proficiency in Mandarin and English is essential.
Flexibility to travel to China for partnership discussion and project management.
Outstanding project management capabilities (i.e. estimating and planning, risk management, status reporting, budget tracking, benefits analysis, stakeholder management and communication, resource management)
Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to build productive working relationships and influence.

Responsibilities

Management and integration of multiple cross functional teams to deliver projects from conceptual ideation stage to prototyping phase maturity for all early innovation and research projects from Dyson.
Ensure governance process of technology maturity are managed across agile product development cycle of early phase innovation of robotics project.
Establish a clear accountability and responsibility across external vendors to support delivery of the product at high resolution software quality.
Coordinate and communicate project status between teams within the organisations to ensure effective and timely input; resolve conflicts and lead solutions.
Challenge concepts to achieve the optimum design within the boundaries of time, specification and cost, maintain and manage the risks, actions and issues trackers.
Manage resource allocation activities against current time plans and work with Finance for overall project cost management.
Take an active, hands-on role to understand how engineering problems are resolved thoroughly and help support that resolution.
Work with development teams to ensure new technologies maximise the performance of new products.
Manage multiple stakeholder’s expectations across all categories from early stage to launch.
Ensure the team use established Dyson development processes, good engineering practice and discipline to deliver a fully resolved solution to the correct standards.
