Job summary

Dyson is seeking a Design Engineer, Category, to support the design, development and delivery of innovative Dyson products and technologies. You will work from concept generation through prototyping to production, taking ownership of defined systems and features across mechanical, electronic and software-enabled domains.

You will collaborate with Dyson teams, partners and suppliers across Asia with frequent travel to design reviews, validation and manufacturing milestones.

Qualifications

• Practical experience in engineering across multiple stages of the product lifecycle.
• Broad exposure to multidisciplinary engineering including mechanical, mechatronics, electronics, software or manufacturing.
• Hands-on prototyping, testing and product integration experience.
• Ability to translate requirements into manufacturable engineering solutions.
• Comfort with design for manufacture and assembly principles.

Responsibilities

• Develop products and features from concept through production.
• Translate needs into clear requirements, specs and deliverables.
• Own defined systems or work packages and manage milestones.
• Create and evaluate concepts via prototyping, testing and analysis.
• Balance performance, user experience, cost, safety and timing.
• Identify risks, investigate failures and support root-cause resolution.
• Participate in design reviews, prototype builds and milestone assessments.
• Coordinate activities across multidisciplinary and distributed teams.
• Communicate progress clearly to engineering and senior stakeholders.
