Job summary

Dyson, a global technology leader, seeks a Senior Design Engineer in Singapore to drive concept-to-production for new product categories. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to translate problems into validated designs, create robust prototypes, and ensure design outputs meet safety, cost and quality targets.

Your role emphasizes practical, evidence-based decision-making and collaboration with manufacturing, suppliers and global engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical discipline.
• 2+ years of mechanical design or product development experience.
• Experience designing plastic, rubber, metal or mechanical assemblies with DFM/DFA.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD, 2D drawings, GD&T and tolerance analysis.
• Ability to translate requirements into practical design work.
• Strong communication and collaboration across cross-functional teams.
• Growth mindset and willingness to learn.
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes and supplier development is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop product parts, assemblies and design solutions that meet requirements for function, performance, reliability, safety, quality, cost and timing.
• Define clear design requirements with targets, including technical, regulatory, manufacturing and cost constraints.
• Generate design concepts and evaluate them against requirements for best trade-offs and risks.
• Apply design for manufacture and assembly principles to create production-ready designs.
• Create, review or manage 3D CAD models, 2D drawings and engineering documentation for development, review and release.
• Build and support functional prototypes, rigs and test samples for investigation and verification.
• Define and support test requirements reflecting user behaviour and failure modes.
• Analyse test results and failures to identify root causes and corrective actions.
• Monitor progress against plans, prioritise work and communicate risks early.
