Responsibilities

• Carry out rigging and signaling duties for lifting operations.
• Select and use appropriate lifting gear and accessories per requirements.

• Guide crane operators and ensure safe load handling.
• Follow lifting plans, method statements, risk assessments, and safety procedures.
• Coordinate with lifting supervisors, crane operators, and site personnel.
• Maintain safe exclusion zones and keep work areas clear.

About the Role

Akila Global Pte Ltd is seeking an experienced and safety-conscious Rigger& Signalman to support our ongoing engineering, maintenance, lifting,and project works in Singapore.

The successful candidate will be responsible for rigging andsignaling operations, lifting and moving materials and equipment, inspectinglifting gear, guiding crane operations, and supporting safe lifting activitiesat project and customer sites .

Candidates should be able to work effectively with liftingsupervisors, crane operators, engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, and othersite personnel while strictly following workplace safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out rigging and signaling duties for lifting operations.
• Select and use appropriate lifting gear, slings, shackles, hooks, spreader beams, and other lifting accessories according to the lifting requirements.
• Inspect lifting gear and accessories before use and report any damaged or defective equipment.
• Attach and secure loads correctly before lifting.
• Give clear and standardized hand signals and communication instructions to crane operators.
• Guide crane operators during lifting, lowering, moving, and positioning of loads.
• Ensure loads are properly balanced, secured, and within the safe working load limits.
• Assist with the positioning and alignment of materials and equipment at the worksite.
• Maintain safe exclusion zones around lifting operations.
• Follow approved lifting plans, method statements, risk assessments, and site safety procedures.
• Coordinate with lifting supervisors, crane operators, workers, and other site personnel.
• Assist with housekeeping and ensure lifting areas are kept safe and clear.
• Report unsafe conditions, damaged lifting equipment, or potential hazards immediately.
• Carry out other lifting-related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

Education

Relevant technical or vocational education in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering, Construction, or a related field will be an advantage.

Candidates without formal technical qualifications may be considered based on relevant hands-on experience and valid certifications.

Relevant lifting and safety certifications are required where applicable.

Skills & Other Requirements

• Good knowledge of rigging, signaling, lifting operations, and lifting equipment .
• Able to identify and select suitable lifting gear for different loads and lifting requirements.
• Able to understand and follow lifting plans, method statements, risk assessments, and safe work procedures .
• Familiar with standard crane hand signals and communication procedures.
• Able to inspect lifting gear and identify defects or unsafe conditions.
• Good understanding of workplace safety requirements.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Physically fit and comfortable working in industrial and construction environments.
• Willing to work at different customer/project sites across Singapore.
• Safety-conscious, responsible, reliable, and disciplined.

Preferred Experience

• 2-5 years or more of relevant experience as a Rigger, Signalman, Rigger & Signalman, or similar position.
• Hands-on experience in lifting, rigging, signaling and material handling operations .
• Experience working with mobile cranes, tower cranes, crawler cranes, overhead cranes, or other lifting equipment will be an advantage.
• Experience handling heavy machinery, equipment, piping, structural steel, vessels, or other industrial materials.
• Experience in process plants, oil & gas, petrochemical, marine, construction, or industrial engineering projects will be preferred.
• Experience working according to lifting plans and coordinating with lifting supervisors and crane operators.
• Experience in shutdown, turnaround, maintenance, and major project works will be advantage.

Certifications

• Candidates should possess relevant and valid Singapore-recognizedcertifications for the role, such as:
• Rigger & Signalman certification
• Relevant lifting-related safety certifications
• Other relevant WSH or site safety certifications will be an advantage
