Job summary

Hyundai Engineering & Construction Co. Ltd is seeking an experienced on-site Lifting and Erection Engineer to prepare 2D/3D lifting plans and ensure safe operations in accordance with LTA, WSH and MOM requirements.

You will inspect ground conditions, coordinate with site engineers and contractors, and conduct risk assessments to prevent hazards on heavy lifting projects in Singapore. Proficiency in reading crane load charts and applying center of gravity calculations is essential.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Civil Engineering recognized by Singapore PE Board or equivalent for Resident engineer eligibility.
  • Valid IES/SHETC Appointed Person for Lifting Operation Certification (Lifting Operations Planning).
  • Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience on projects of similar scale and complexity.
  • In-depth understanding of statics, center of gravity, load distribution and calculations.
  • Ability to read crane load charts and understand variations.
  • Familiar with LTA safety handbooks, Rail Protection Zones, and Public Traffic Impact.
  • Knowledge of Singapore Standards for Cranes and Lifting Gears.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
  • CSCPM/BCSS/Confined space/Work At Height certifications.
  • Progress oriented, team player.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Hardworking and willing to learn.

Responsibilities

  • Reports to Construction Manager.
  • Prepare and review 2D/3D lifting and erection plans, safe work procedures and engineering calculations for load limits.
  • Ensure all operations align with LTA safety guidelines, Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations and MOM requirements.
  • Inspect ground and soil conditions to verify stability for heavy mobile or crawler cranes before any lifting work begins.
  • Act as technical focal point by coordinating with site engineers, lifting supervisors, riggers, signalman and contractors.
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments, mitigate job-site hazards and oversee critical lifting operations on site.

Job description

Job Requirements
  • Degree in Civil Engineering recognized by Singapore PE Board or qualification acceptable to the Commissioner of Building Control as eligible for application as Resident engineer or Degree in relevant field subject to the acceptance of the Engineer
  • Must possess IES/SHETC Appointed Person for Lifting Operation Certification of valid Lifting Operations Planning credentials
  • Minimum of 5 years of Engineering experience for projects of similar scale and complexity
  • In-depth understanding of statics, center of gravity, load distribution and calculations, etc
  • Proficient in reading and understanding complex crane load charts, configuration variations and environmental factor, etc
  • Familiar with LTA's safety handbooks, procedures regarding Rail Protection Zones and Public Traffic Impact
  • Thorough knowledge of Singapore Standards for Cranes and Lifting Gears, etc
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Auto CAD
  • CSCPM/BCSS/Confined space/Work At Height
  • Progress oriented, team player
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Hardworking and willing to learn
