The ideal candidate possesses a strong floor presence, exceptional problem-solving skills, and a proven track record in grocery or convenience store retail, with flexibility to work weekends

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–3 years in supervisory or assistant management in mini-mart or convenience store.
• Diploma or equivalent in Retail Management or related field.
• Proficiency with POS software and inventory systems.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Job Summary

We are looking for a reliable and hands‑on Retail Assistant Manager to oversee the daily operations of our mini‑mart. In this role, you will work closely with the Store Manager to drive sales, manage inventory, lead floor staff, and ensure an excellent shopping experience for our neighborhood customers. The ideal candidate possesses a strong floor presence, exceptional problem‑solving skills, and a proven track record in grocery or convenience store retail.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Daily Operations: Oversee day‑to‑day storefront operations, ensuring the mini‑mart is clean, well‑stocked, and organized according to visual merchandising standards.
• Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and schedule retail assistants and cashiers. Motivate the team to achieve daily sales targets and maintain high customer service standards.
• Inventory & Stock Management: Manage stock levels, coordinate with suppliers for ordering, perform regular stock takes, and minimize stock shrinkage or wastage.
• Cash Management: Manage Point of Sale system operations, perform daily cash reconciliations, open/close the cash till, and ensure precise financial transactions.
• Customer Excellence: Handle escalated customer enquiries, feedback, and complaints professionally to maintain long‑term neighborhood customer loyalty.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure the store strictly complies with Singapore retail regulations, licensing requirements (tobacco, alcohol, etc.), and workplace safety standards.

Job Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 1 to 3 years of supervisory or assistant management experience in a mini‑mart, convenience store, supermarket, or traditional provision shop.
• Education: N/O Levels, NITEC, or a Diploma in Retail Management or a related business field.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in handling modern POS retail software and basic inventory management systems.
• Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal and team communication skills with a problem‑solving mindset.
• Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible retail shift hours, including weekends, evenings, and public holidays.
• Physical Capability: Able to stand for extended periods and assist the team with heavy lifting or stock replenishment (up to 15‑20kg) when required.
