Managing consultants' site staff team, together with the Senior Resident Engineer (SRE), to project completion and handover, ensuring compliance with regulations and client requirements.
Responsibilities
The Resident Architect will be in charge of:
- architectural site staff
- entire consultants' site staff team upon the SRE's end of contract
The Resident Architect shall be assigned to site full time and possess the following:
- Experience in large-scale mixed use, commercial, institutional projects
- Proven ability to manage, oversee and lead a large site staff team
- Possess a strong understanding of architectural principles, building codes and construction techniques
- Support and assist the SRE in the duties as directed by him and/or the supervising Qualified Person(s)
- Review all project drawings and specifications, and raise any discrepancies and/or possible issues before construction work commences on site and progressively throughout the entire course of the project
- Identify and resolve technical problems that may arise during construction, ensuring successful and timely project completion and handover, and to liaise with the supervising Qualified Person(s) and the relevant consultants on any design or coordination issues.
- Supervise the construction and related works, maintain quality control and ensure that the works are carried out in accordance with project specifications, approved drawings and sketches, product or system specifications, contractor's method of statements, installation and working procedures and site instructions by the supervising Qualified Person(s) and project consultants.
- Monitor project progress schedule
- Ensure proper site documentation for ongoing works, site meetings, safety records, method of statements, shop drawings, as-built submissions
- Coordinate with operators or users and contractors to facilitate the installation of fit-out works
Requirements
- Degree in Architecture from any recognized tertiary institution recognized by Board of Architects, Singapore, or Accreditation with professional bodies of equivalent standing as Board of Architects Singapore
- Possess at least 10 years of local working experience and site supervision of major building works, architectural elements, facade elements (such as curtainwall systems and aluminium cladding systems) and finishing works
- Knowledge of building and architectural details (including facade system), fit out works, working drawings and construction practice
- Knowledge of computer 3D programmes
- Conversant and familiar with Singapore Statues, Codes and Regulations
- Strong leadership skills
- Good track record
