Job summary

Charterhouse Asia seeks an experienced Private Banking / Wealth Management Operations Leader to oversee a broad operations portfolio in Singapore. The role requires senior leadership, strong product knowledge, and the ability to drive reliable service delivery while strengthening controls.

You will work with bankers, product specialists, and senior stakeholders to resolve complex operational issues, manage capacity, and lead onshore/offshore teams with regional exposure.

Qualifications

• Substantial Private Banking or Wealth Management operations experience, ideally within a large, established Private Bank.
• At least 15 years of relevant experience, including senior leadership across multiple operational functions.
• Avaloq experience would be advantageous.
• All-round operational background with end-to-end lifecycle understanding across products and teams.
• Experience managing regional operations and onshore/offshore delivery arrangements.
• Confidence to engage senior bankers and product specialists and take ownership of difficult decisions.
• Hands-on leadership while setting clear priorities and direction.
• Experience supporting business growth, new products, and changing client requirements.

Responsibilities

• Operational leadership across shared services and processing activities spanning middle office, settlements, corporate actions, derivatives, funds, fees, and reference data.
• Serve as senior escalation point, delivering practical solutions to complex client, product, and transaction requirements.
• Apply knowledge across equities, fixed income, derivatives, and investment funds.
• Lead onshore and offshore teams, strengthen accountability and service standards.
• Maintain governance, manage incidents, and address audit findings and control gaps.
• Simplify processes, enhance systems, and introduce automation while ensuring stable delivery.
• Develop leadership capability and succession plans.

This opportunity suits a senior leader who has progressed through wealth management operations and combines broad product knowledge with the judgement, credibility, and drive to lead a demanding function. The position carries substantial day-to-day operational responsibility, regional exposure, and the opportunity to take on broader leadership responsibilities over time.

The role

You will lead a broad operations portfolio, ensure reliable service delivery while strengthening controls, developing people and supporting evolving business requirements. Working closely with bankers, product specialists, and senior stakeholders, you will resolve complex operational issues, manage competing priorities, and build the capacity to support continued growth.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Operational leadership: Oversee shared services and processing activities spanning middle office, settlements, corporate actions, derivatives, funds, fees, and reference data.

• Business partnership: Act as a senior escalation point, providing practical solutions to complex client, product, and transaction requirements.

• Cross-product oversight: Apply sound operational knowledge across equities, fixed income, derivatives, and investment funds.

• Regional delivery: Lead onshore and offshore teams, strengthening accountability, service standards, capacity planning, and collaboration.

• Risk and controls: Maintain effective governance, manage operational incidents, and ensure timely resolution of audit findings and control gaps.

• Continuous improvement: Simplify processes, enhance systems, and introduce automation while maintaining stable day-to-day delivery.

• People development: Build leadership capability, develop talent and establish effective succession plans.

What we are looking for

• Substantial Private Banking or Wealth Management operations experience, ideally gained within a large, established Private Bank.

• At least 15 years of relevant experience, including senior leadership responsibility across multiple operational functions.

• Avaloq experience would be advantageous.

• An all-round operational background with strong understanding of the end-to-end transaction lifecycle and dependencies across products and teams.

• Proven experience managing regional operations and onshore/offshore delivery arrangements.

• A hands-on leadership approach, with the ability to remain close to operational detail while setting clear priorities and direction.
