Job summary

Ocean Network Express is seeking an experienced Equipment Planner to manage local inventories and optimize regional repositioning. You will coordinate with depots and terminals to ensure container availability while controlling costs.

The role requires hands-on experience with equipment planning, inventory control, and cost management, plus familiarity with Portnet/EDI/OPUS systems. Strong analytical and collaboration skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Maritime Studies, or related field.
• Preferably 10+ years in a similar role.
• Hands-on experience in equipment planning, inventory control, and empty container repositioning.
• Experience with Portnet and EDI/OPUS systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Monitor local container inventories (dry, reefer, special) to meet cargo bookings while avoiding excess.
• Execute empty container repositioning requests for regional needs.
• Coordinate with depots/terminals for long-stay containers and off-hire activities.
• Oversee container reuse approvals and transfer financial liability between trucking companies.
• Generate work orders and identify cost-saving opportunities through better storage or trucking.
• Prepare monthly data reports and use analytics to improve forecasting and visibility.
