Job summary

Ocean Network Express invites a detail-oriented Equipment Control Executive to join our global shipping operations in Singapore. You will reconcile D&D charges, monitor asset utilisation, maintain accurate container movement records in OPUS, and support data reporting with a focus on cost optimisation.

You should hold a Diploma in Maritime Studies or related field, have at least 2 years' relevant experience, and be proficient in MS Office and Google Suite.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Maritime Studies or shipping-related discipline required.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Knowledge of IICL standards, cargo-worthy inspection, and repair estimation; IICL certification is an advantage.
• Highly organized with strong time management and multitasking abilities.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Vlookup, Pivot Tables) and Google Suite.

Responsibilities

• Perform reconciliation of Demurrage & Detention charges to ensure billing accuracy.
• Monitor and reduce long-stay empty containers to optimise asset utilisation.

• Assist in verifying depot invoices for accuracy and compliance.
• Support EQC workflows for tracking and utilisation of container assets.
• Extract, reconcile, and visualise operational data for reporting and analysis.
• Carry out ad-hoc operational tasks to support daily business needs.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities through strong analytical insights.
• Assist in any other assigned ad-hoc duties.

You will be responsible for managing Demurrage and Detention (D&D) reconciliation, monitoring container utilization, maintaining accurate system records, and supporting data reporting and cost optimisation to ensure efficient equipment operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform reconciliation of Demurrage & Detention (D&D) charges to ensure billing accuracy.
• Monitor and reduce long-stay empty containers to optimise asset utilisation.
• Correct and maintain accurate container movement records in OPUS.
• Assist in verifying depot invoices for accuracy and compliance.
• Support Equipment Control (EQC) workflows for effective tracking and utilisation of container assets.
• Extract, reconcile, and visualise operational data for reporting and analysis.
• Carry out ad-hoc operational tasks to support daily business needs.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities through strong analytical insights.
• Assist in any other assigned ad-hoc duties.

Job Requirements

• At least Diploma in Maritime Studies / Shipping-related disciplines or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in a similar role preferred.
• Knowledge of Institute of International Container Lessors (IICL) standards, cargo-worthy inspection, and repair estimation; IICL certification is an advantage.
• Highly organized with strong time management skills, able to prioritise and handle multiple tasks and deadlines
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of making sound operational decisions
• Proficient in MS Office skills (e.g., Excel, Vlookup, Pivot Tables) as well as Google Suite applications.
