Job summary

GAMMON PTE. LIMITED is seeking a Quantity Surveyor with 3–6 years of experience in the construction industry. The role involves take-off, BOQ preparation, cost control and tender analysis, with liaison to internal and external stakeholders.

Preference for candidates with MRT or bus depot project exposure and RC works experience. Senior candidates may be considered for higher responsibilities, including budget reporting and subcontract administration.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline is required.
• 3–6 years of experience in construction, preferably with LTA MRT or bus depot projects.
• Experience in major RC works is preferred and senior consideration offered for more experience.
• Familiarity with PSSCOC, REDAS and SIA standard contract forms.

Responsibilities

• Take-off, measurement of quantities and establish detailed BOQ.
• Source, review and negotiate quotations.
• Coordinate with internal and external project stakeholders.
• Attend project meetings and conduct site walks for progress evaluation.
• Assist in project budgeting, cost control and monthly reports (senior position).
• Prepare subcontract tender documents, analyze cost, post-tender clarifications, and award recommendations.
• Manage sub-contract administration, including contract documentation, correspondence and disputes.
• Verify subcontractor progress claims, final accounts and variation orders timely.

Job description

Responsibilities:

• Perform taking off and measurement of quantities, and establishing detailed BOQ
• Source, review and negotiation of quotations
• Work closely and liaise with both internal and external project stakeholders
• Attend project meetings including site walks for progress claims’ evaluation
• Project budget and cost control including prepare monthly financial budget report and presentations (For Senior position)
• Prepare RFQ Subcontract tender documents, analyze and prepare cost comparison, post tender clarifications, tender interview, and award recommendation report
• Sub-Contract administration including handling contractual documentation, correspondences and disputes matters
• Assess, verify and response subcontractor's monthly progress claim, final account and variation orders in timely manner

Requirements:

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or in related disciplines (Mechanical / Electrical / Civil & Structural Engineering)
• At least 3 to 6 years of experience in a similar position in construction industry, preferably with LTA MRT or bus depot project, with additional preference for experience in major RC works
• Candidate with more experience will be considered for a senior role
• Knowledge of PSSCOC and/or REDAS and /or SIA standard forms of Contracts
• Meticulous, analytical, eye for details and a good team player
• Ability to multi-task in a fast paced and dynamic environment
• Highly motivated, self-driven with initiatives to work independently
