Job summary

SMW ENGINEERING PTE. LTD. in Singapore is seeking an Estimator to prepare costings for tenders by reviewing drawings, specifications and scope documents.

You will produce detailed quantity take-offs, price negotiations with suppliers, coordinate budgets, and prepare shop drawings (2D/3D & BIM) for tender submissions; collaborate with the Estimating Team and project colleagues to ensure accurate proposals.

Qualifications

• Reviews tender documents to understand project details and requirements.
• Provides detailed and accurate quantity and component take-offs against drawings and specifications.
• Communicates and negotiates competitive rates with suppliers and sub-contractors.

Responsibilities

• Monitor sales enquiries and follow up to obtain requirements.
• Review tender documents to understand project details and requirements.
• Review and interpret engineering documentation such as drawings, specifications and scope of works.
• Provide detailed quantity and component take-offs against drawings and specifications.
• Provide timely clarifications for ongoing submissions within the tender.
• Provide competitive industry schedule of rates against the take-offs.
• Communicate and negotiate competitive rates with Suppliers and Sub-contractors.
• Provide costing data and input into proposal formats required by tender documentation.
• Work within the Estimating Team, reporting to the manager.
• Coordinate with other project team for monthly progress claim and following up variation works.
• Coordinate with project team to monitor budget.
• Maintain Company Pricing Databases.
• Prepare the shop drawings (2D, 3D & BIM), submission and liaising with main con / consultant for approval.
• Follow up the documents submission, material submission and approval.
• Prepare material schedule, material cutting schedule and coordinate production team.
• Attend project meetings, coordination site progress and schedule.
