Job summary

SPCI HELM Singapore Pte. Ltd. is seeking a Purchasing Executive to source, evaluate, and procure raw materials, chemicals, packaging, equipment, and operating supplies in a fast-paced, safety-sensitive environment.

You will manage supplier relationships, negotiate terms, prepare and follow up on purchase orders, and ensure regulatory compliance, quality, and timely deliveries.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of purchasing experience, preferably in the chemical or manufacturing industry.
  • Good understanding of chemical handling, storage, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong communication, coordination, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced and safety-sensitive environment.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and organised.

Responsibilities

  • Purchase raw materials, chemicals, packaging materials, equipment, spare parts, and other operational supplies based on approved purchase requests.
  • Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to achieve competitive pricing, suitable payment terms, quality, and timely delivery.
  • Prepare, issue, and follow up on purchase orders.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and internal departments to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Ensure purchased materials meet the required technical, quality, and safety specifications.
  • Ensure chemical purchases comply with applicable regulatory requirements, including SDS and local hazardous-goods regulations.
  • Monitor supplier performance and resolve delivery delays, non-conformities, shortages, and quality concerns.
  • Maintain proper purchasing records, quotations, purchase orders, contracts, SDS, COAs, and regulatory certificates.
  • Conduct periodic supplier evaluations and maintain the approved supplier list.
  • Monitor market pricing, lead times, and potential supply risks.
