Job summary

GovTech in Singapore seeks a Product Engineer to own products end-to-end, turning ambiguous government problems into testable, valuable software. You will collaborate with users and stakeholders to define what to build, design scalable architectures, and deliver secure, observable systems that can scale across GovTech platforms.

You will work across frontend, backend, data, APIs, and integrations, applying modern agentic tools and AI where it meaningfully improves outcomes.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering fundamentals and ability to ship working software.
• Proficiency in Python, TypeScript, Go or equivalent.
• Experience taking substantial products from idea to working implementation.
• Ability to work across frontend, backend, data, APIs, infrastructure or deployment.
• Good technical judgement and production-ready engineering practices.
• Experience deploying, monitoring, debugging and operating software in cloud environments.
• Understanding of authentication, authorization and secure data handling.

Responsibilities

• Turn ambiguous government problems into usable products for testing and use.
• Engage with users and stakeholders to understand workflows and needs.
• Define what to build and iterate based on real-world usage and evidence.
• Build end-to-end products across frontend, backend, data, APIs and infrastructure.
• Design product experiences with accessibility and visual quality in mind.
• Ensure security, observability and maintainability in product systems.
• Integrate GovTech platforms and shared capabilities where appropriate.
• Develop reusable capabilities through APIs and data interfaces.
• Apply AI where it meaningfully improves the product and evaluate models when needed.
• Support deployment, beta monitoring, and post-launch handover or expansion.
