Job summary

GovTech Singapore is seeking a Product Engineer to own products end-to-end, from understanding user needs to building software, deploying, and validating with real users.

You will work on diverse products with components across frontend, backend, data, APIs, and infrastructure, using agentic AI, modern tools, and secure design practices. Flexible work arrangements may apply to suitable roles.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering fundamentals and ability to build working software.
• Proficiency in Python, TypeScript or Go and API design experience.
• Experience taking substantial products from idea to working implementation.
• Ability to work across multiple parts of a product stack and deployment environments.
• Familiarity with authenticating and securing data in production environments.
• Fluency with agentic development tools and modern AI workflows.

Responsibilities

• Turn ambiguous government problems into useful products that people can test and use.
• Work directly with users and stakeholders to understand workflows and needs.
• Decide what to build, create first versions, and iterate based on real-world use.
• Build complete products across frontend, backend, data, APIs, integrations, and deployment.
• Design secure, observable systems and reusable APIs and tools.
• Integrate with GovTech platforms, identity systems and data infrastructure.
• Deploy products through limited beta and monitor performance, reliability, and cost.
• Prepare products for handover or broader productisation.
