Job summary

A leading provider of integrated facility management solutions is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to manage projects within a healthcare facility. This role requires compliance with healthcare standards and delivering quality outcomes on time and within budget. Candidates with a background in Quantity Surveying (QS) are preferred. Key responsibilities include project coordination, contractor management, tender preparation, problem-solving, and oversight of project handovers. Strong project management skills and proficiency in engineering software are essential.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong background in project management and Quantity Surveying (QS).
  • Prior experience in healthcare or IFM projects is an advantage.
  • Excellent decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

  • Liaise with healthcare users and stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Coordinate with contractors on manpower and materials within budget.
  • Prepare tender specifications and evaluate submissions.
  • Attend project meetings, propose solutions, and address client concerns.
  • Oversee proper handover of projects, including testing and commissioning.
  • Work closely with engineers on technical specifications.
  • Monitor project implementation to ensure timely completion.
  • Verify contractors’ submission of as-built drawings and manuals.
  • Update project progress reports for managers and clients.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our team at a healthcare facility under the Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) sector. This role involves managing projects end-to-end, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards, and delivering quality outcomes within budget and timelines. Candidates with Quantity Surveying (QS) experience will be highly preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Project Coordination: Liaise with healthcare users and stakeholders to ensure project requirements and specifications are met.
  • Contractor Management: Coordinate with contractors on manpower, materials, and equipment to ensure efficient resource utilization within budget.
  • Tender & Documentation: Prepare tender (RFQ) specifications, project schedules, tender calls, and evaluate submissions.
  • Problem-Solving: Attend project meetings, propose solutions, and address client concerns promptly.
  • Testing & Commissioning: Oversee proper handover of projects, including detailed testing and commissioning (T&C) of equipment and facilities.
  • Technical Collaboration: Work closely with engineers and technical teams on technical specifications for existing facility systems.
  • Progress Monitoring: Track project implementation to ensure timely completion and compliance with healthcare standards.
  • Handover Compliance: Verify contractors’ submission of as-built drawings, OMM manuals, and proper documentation.
  • Reporting: Update project progress reports for managers and clients.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned to support project success.
Requirements
  • Education: Degree in Engineering with at least 5 years of relevant experience, OR
  • Experience: Strong background in project management and Quantity Surveying (QS). Prior experience in healthcare or IFM projects is an advantage.
  • Skills: Excellent decision-making and problem-solving abilities. Proficient in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD. Strong communication skills in written and spoken English.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
