PROJECT COORDINATOR
Job Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Project Coordinator to support our project execution and installation activities, primarily within semiconductor manufacturing and cleanroom environments.
The Project Coordinator will serve as the key coordination interface between our on-site installation team, customers/clients, main contractors, and other subcontractors. The role requires strong communication, problem-solving and coordination skills to ensure that site issues are resolved promptly and installation works remain on schedule.
The successful candidate should be comfortable working in an active construction / cleanroom environment and be able to independently follow up on site matters, coordinate solutions and provide clear progress reporting to the Project Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily site activities between the Project Manager, installation team, client/main contractor and other subcontractors.
- Act as the primary coordination point for installation-related site issues and assist in resolving them promptly.
- Identify and resolve site constraints such as physical obstructions, access limitations, installation clashes, incorrect site conditions or other works affecting installation progress.
- Coordinate and mediate with clients, main contractors and other subcontractors when their works interfere with or affect our installation activities.
- Escalate technical, safety, schedule or site issues to the Project Manager when necessary and follow through until closure.
- Monitor installation progress against the project schedule and highlight potential delays or risks early.
- Coordinate site readiness before installation, including access, work area clearance, equipment/foundation locations and other installation prerequisites.
- Attend site coordination meetings, toolbox meetings and project discussions where required.
- Prepare and maintain daily/weekly progress reports, installation status updates, issue trackers and other project documentation.
- Maintain proper records of site issues, photographs, completed works and outstanding actions.
- Coordinate manpower, installation sequence and site activities with supervisors and installation teams.
- Ensure works are carried out according to approved drawings, method statements, client requirements and site procedures.
- Assist in checking installation locations, reference/datum points, dimensions and site conditions against approved drawings.
- Support project handover, inspection, punch-list rectification and completion documentation.
- Ensure installation teams comply with applicable Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) requirements and site-specific safety procedures.
Requirements
- Diploma / NITEC / Higher NITEC or equivalent in Engineering, Construction, Building Services, Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline is preferred.
- Previous experience in project coordination, site coordination, construction, equipment installation or engineering projects is preferred.
- Experience working in semiconductor facilities, cleanrooms, manufacturing plants or controlled environments will be an advantage.
- Able to read and understand basic engineering drawings, layout drawings and installation drawings.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to coordinate between installers, subcontractors, main contractors and clients.
- Able to identify practical site problems and work with different parties to develop workable solutions.
- Able to prepare clear progress reports and maintain proper project records.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Able and willing to work on site and adapt to project/site working requirements.
- Able to work independently while keeping the Project Manager informed of important developments.
Preferred WSH Qualifications
Candidates possessing relevant Singapore WSH certifications will have an advantage, including:
- BCSS (Building Construction Supervisors Safety Course) or equivalent
- Manage Work at Height
- Work at Height-related certification
- Lifting / rigging-related certification
- Other relevant WSH or construction safety certifications
Preferred Experience
Experience in any of the following areas would be advantageous:
- Semiconductor equipment installation
- Cleanroom projects
- Machine / equipment foundation installation
- Anti-vibration foundation/platform installation
- Equipment move-in
- Construction site coordination
- Mechanical installation
- Tool installation
