Qualifications

  • 3–5 years in procurement or supply chain, preferably in marine construction.
  • Familiarity with marine materials and suppliers.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and vendor management.
  • Proficiency in procurement software, ERP, and MS Office.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Job description

As a procurement executive, you are responsible to manage the procurement of materials, equipment, and services necessary for each project. This role requires balancing cost-effectiveness, quality standards, and project deadlines as well as client-relationship management while sourcing and managing vendors and suppliers.

Job Description:
1. Vendor Sourcing and Evaluation
  • Identify and assess potential suppliers of materials, equipment, and services specific to marine construction industry.
  • Interact and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure the consistent availability of critical resources/materials.
  • Compare 3 vendor/supplier's term and pricing and contracts according to project requirements.
  • Work within project budgets to optimize costs without compromising on quality or timelines.
  • Conduct periodic audits and inspections of suppliers to ensure adherence to quality and regulatory requirements.
2. Inventory Management
  • Work closely with project teams and other stakeholders to align procurement activities with project timelines and specifications.
  • Place purchase orders based on requests or inventory needs through ERP portal.
  • Ensure the timely and efficient delivery of materials and equipment to construction sites to meet project schedules.
  • Adjust procurement strategies based on project changes or evolving requirements.
  • Monitor inventory levels and manage stock to prevent shortages or excess materials.
  • Ensure all items purchased and received according to specifications & compliance with standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases and pricing.
3. Risk Management
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate procurement risks, such as supply chain disruptions, price fluctuations, and vendor reliability issues.
  • Develop contingency plans to address potential delays or resource shortages, especially in remote or offshore environments.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Marine Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of3-5 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably in the marine construction or offshore industry.
  • Familiarity with marine construction materials, equipment, and industry-specific suppliers is highly advantageous.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills.
  • Attention to detail and document keeping.
  • Proficiency in procurement software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet tight deadlines, and adapt to changes.
