Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Chartered Engineer status preferred.

• Proficiency with electrical design software (Dialux/Amtech/ETAP/AutoCAD/Revit).

Principal Electrical Engineer – Singapore

Are you an experienced electrical engineer ready to lead complex, mission-critical designs for the region’s fastest growing data centre sector? Then this role is for you.

As Principal Electrical Engineer, you will lead the design and delivery of complex electrical systems for data centre and mission-critical infrastructure projects. You will combine technical excellence with leadership, working across multidisciplinary teams to deliver highly reliable, energy-efficient and future-ready facilities.

Technical leadership and design excellence

You will lead the design of electrical systems for data centre and critical infrastructure projects, developing and reviewing detailed designs for HV/LV power distribution, UPS systems, backup generators, switchgear and critical power systems. You will ensure designs meet uptime, redundancy and resilience requirements, and provide technical oversight across your projects.

You will manage electrical engineering packages across multiple data centre projects, from concept through to commissioning. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical, ICT, structural and BIM, and support planning, budgeting and risk management throughout delivery.

Client and stakeholder engagement

You will engage directly with clients, contractors and vendors on technical solutions and delivery requirements, providing expert advice on data centre electrical infrastructure and performance optimisation. You will represent Black & White Engineering in client-facing engagements and technical discussions.

Mentorship and team development

You will mentor and guide junior engineers and designers within the electrical team, promoting knowledge sharing across data centre best practice. You will play an active role in building a high-performing, technically strong engineering team.

Innovation and continuous improvement

You will drive innovation in energy efficiency, redundancy optimisation and sustainability, staying current with technologies such as modular data centres, renewable integration and advanced monitoring systems. You will support the wider adoption of digital engineering and BIM within electrical design workflows.

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Chartered Engineer (CPEng) status, or working towards accreditation, is preferred.
• Proven consultancy experience, ideally within data centres or other mission-critical facilities.
• Track record delivering electrical engineering packages within multidisciplinary project teams.
• Strong understanding of code requirements and standards across the APAC region.
• Proficiency with design and calculation software such as Dialux, Amtech, ETAP, AutoCAD and Revit.
• Working understanding of adjacent disciplines, including architecture, structures, civils and security.
• Singapore Professional Engineer registration, or progress towards it, is beneficial.
• IES Electrical and Electronics Engineering Professional Membership is desirable.
• Excellent written and spoken English, with strong communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
