Job summary

Black & White Engineering is seeking an Associate Director, Mechanical to lead technical delivery on mission critical projects across Asia Pacific. You will mentor engineers, drive regional growth, and contribute to the Technical Committee while maintaining high design and documentation standards.

You will oversee HVAC design, coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams, and play a key role in client meetings and new business initiatives, with Chartered status supported and clear progression toward

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Chartered Engineer status or working towards it (CEng).
• Significant experience in mechanical engineering design across diverse building typologies; data centre experience is a plus.
• Proven ability to lead and mentor multi-disciplinary teams and deliver complex projects.
• Proficiency in HAP, Hevacomp, IES or BIM 360.

Are you a mechanical engineering leader ready to shape critical buildings and infrastructure across Asia Pacific?

As Associate Director, Mechanical you will lead technical delivery, mentor talented engineers and help grow our presence in Singapore and the wider region.

Technical leadership on mission critical projects

You will lead mechanical engineering design across some of the region’s most complex data centre and critical infrastructure projects, working alongside a genuinely global team. From overseeing HVAC system design to reviewing drawings and documentation, you will set the standard for accuracy and quality, delivering “Right First Time” outcomes on every project you touch.

Technical authority across a complex discipline

You will maintain oversight of commercial dashboards and project performance, coordinate closely with other engineering disciplines, and chair technical meetings, giving you genuine influence over how projects are planned, run and delivered.

Regional growth and international exposure

• Bachelor’s degree (BSc, BEng or B.Tech) in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) status, or working towards it, ideally with CIBSE, IMechE or equivalent membership.
• Significant experience in mechanical engineering design across diverse building typologies, with data centre experience an advantage.
• Proven track record delivering complex projects against both technical and commercial objectives.
• Experience leading and mentoring multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
• Proficiency in industry standard design software, such as HAP, Hevacomp, IES or BIM 360.
