Job summary

Black & White Engineering is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to deliver complex, high‑value data centre projects across Singapore and the APAC region.

You will lead MEP design, perform detailed calculations, coordinate with electrical, structural and architectural teams, and mentor junior engineers while engaging clients.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BEng/BSc or equivalent).
• Chartered status preferred (CEng/PE Singapore or equivalent).
• 3–7 years in mechanical (MEP) design consultancy.
• Experience in data centre or mission-critical projects.
• Proficiency with Revit, IES or similar tools.

Are you an experienced mechanical engineer ready to deliver complex, high-value projects across the region’s fastest growing data centre market? Then this role is for you.

As Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will support the delivery of technically challenging projects, particularly within mission-critical environments such as data centres, contributing to our continued growth across Singapore and the wider APAC region. You will play a key role in engineering design, project delivery, coordination and client engagement, while supporting team development and business growth. Engineering and project delivery

You will deliver high-quality mechanical (MEP) design solutions across all project stages, undertaking detailed design calculations, system sizing and technical documentation. You will support end-to-end delivery, ensuring outputs meet client requirements, timelines and budget, while coordinating closely with electrical, structural and architectural teams.

Technical excellence

You will provide technical input and guidance within project teams, ensuring designs align with industry best practice and local regulatory requirements, including BCA and SS standards. You will contribute to innovation in mission-critical and data centre environments, and review design work produced by junior engineers.

You will support client engagement on projects, maintaining strong working relationships and attending client meetings, workshops and technical discussions. You will collaborate with contractors, consultants and other stakeholders, acting as a reliable technical point of contact for your projects.

Team support and development

You will mentor and support junior engineers and graduates in their professional development, contributing to knowledge sharing and continuous improvement within the team. You will also assist with internal resource planning and coordination as required.

You will support project managers in monitoring project scope, timelines and cost controls, and assist in preparing technical inputs for proposals and bid submissions. You will maintain awareness of project commercial drivers, contributing to efficient delivery.

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BEng/BSc or equivalent).
• Working towards or holding Chartered Engineer status (CEng, PE Singapore, or equivalent) is preferred.
• Typically 3 to 7 years of experience in mechanical (MEP) design consultancy.
• Proven experience delivering complex projects, ideally within data centres, mission-critical facilities, commercial developments or large-scale infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of relevant design standards and Singapore regulations, including BCA and SS standards.
• Proficiency with design tools such as Revit, IES or similar platforms.
