Job summary

Black & White Engineering in Singapore is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to deliver high-value MEP design solutions for data centres and mission-critical facilities across the APAC region.

You will lead technical design, perform calculations, coordinate with electrical, structural and architectural teams, review designs, and mentor junior engineers while engaging clients to ensure projects meet scope, schedule and budget.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BEng/BSc or equi).
• Working towards or holding Chartered Engineer status (CEng, PE Singapore, or equivalent) preferred.
• Typically 3–7 years of experience in mechanical (MEP) design consultancy.
• Proven experience delivering complex projects, ideally in Data Centres / Mission Critical Facilities, Commercial developments, Large-scale infrastructure projects
• Strong knowledge of relevant design standards and Singapore regulations (e.g. BCA, SS standards).
• Proficiency in design tools such as Revit, IES, or similar platforms.

We are seeking a highly capable Senior Mechanical Engineer to support the delivery of complex, high-value projects and contribute to the continued growth of Black & White Engineering in Singapore and across the APAC region.

This role will focus on delivering technically challenging projects, particularly within mission-critical environments such as data centres. You will play a key role in engineering design, project delivery, coordination, and client engagement while supporting team development and business growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality mechanical (MEP) design solutions across all project stages.
• Support end-to-end project delivery, ensuring outputs meet client requirements, timelines, and budget constraints.
• Undertake detailed design calculations, system sizing, and technical documentation.
• Participate in design reviews and ensure compliance with relevant standards and codes.
• Coordinate closely with multi-disciplinary teams, including electrical, structural, and architectural disciplines.

Technical Excellence

• Provide technical input and guidance within project teams.
• Ensure designs align with industry best practices and local regulatory requirements (e.g. BCA, SS standards).
• Contribute to innovation in engineering solutions, particularly in mission-critical/data centre environments.
• Review and check design work produced by junior engineers.

Client & Stakeholder Management

• Support client engagement on projects, maintaining strong working relationships.
• Attend client meetings, workshops, and technical discussions.
• Collaborate with contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
• Act as a reliable technical point of contact for assigned projects.

Team Support & Devel

• Mentor and support junior engineers and graduates in their professional development.
• Contribute to knowledge sharing and continuous improvement within the team.
• Assist with internal resource planning and coordination as required.
• Support project managers in monitoring project scope, timelines, and cost controls.
• Assist in preparing technical inputs for proposals and bid submissions.
• Maintain awareness of project commercial drivers and contribute to efficient delivery.
