Job summary

ROOTS Communications Pte Ltd is seeking a Pre-sales Engineer to bridge IT and client needs from its Singapore base.

You will provide presales support for network solutions, engage with clients, run needs assessments, lead RFP/RFI responses, and deliver technical presentations.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a pre-sales or technical sales role in IT networking.
• 5–10 years of related pre-sales experience in IT networking, IP network infra and IT security.
• Preferred certifications: CCNP/CCIE or HCIP/HCIE.

About the role

As a Pre-sales Engineer at ROOTS Communications Pte Ltd, you will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between our IT/ networking solutions and our prospective clients. Based in the Kallang Central Region, this full-time position will see you engaging with clients, understanding their needs and requirements, and proposing tailored solutions that deliver measurable business impact.

What you'll be doing

1. Provide presales technical support on network solutions and to participate in the bid/ tender process.

2. Collaborate closely with the sales team to understand client requirements.

3. Conduct in-depth needs assessments and perform a technical lead role in the review and response of RFP/RFI documentation.

4. Conduct/ Lead in technical presentation and/or tender clarification of solution design, configuration and interoperability of different IT/IP Solutions proposed.

5. Perform proof of concepts (POCs) and early engagement with customers in selling network solutions

6. Ensure an appropriate and efficient handover from pre-sales to the operation/delivery teams.

What we're looking for

Proven experience in a pre-sales or technical sales role, preferably within the SI/ Information & Communication Technology industry

Preferred to have at least 5 -10 years of related pre-sales working experience in IT networking, IP Network Infra and IT security projects.

Preferably with Cisco or Huawei certification (CCNP/CCIE/ HCIP/ HCIE) and above and Network security products.

Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into business value

Excellent problem-solving and analytical capabilities, with a keen eye for detail

Collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams

Relevant tertiary qualifications in a technical or business-related field in government agencies, such as healthcare institutions/ commercial/ transportation.
