Job summary

Tan Tock Seng Hospital in Singapore is seeking a dedicated Financial Counsellor to support inpatient units by explaining ward charges, estimating bills, and advising patients and their families on payment options. You will stay updated on healthcare financing initiatives and handle queries from patients/next-of-kin in compliance with PHMC Act/Regulations.

Responsibilities

• To stay updated with changes to healthcare financing initiatives, so as to communicate and handle patients/next-of-kin queries effectively
• To provide financial counselling for patients/next-of-kin at the assigned unit – inpatient ward – in compliance with the Private Hospitals & Medical Clinics (PHMC) Act/Regulations.
• This includes informing patients/next-of-kin regarding the different ward class charges, their bill estimates and the possible payment methods.
• To perform upgrade/downgrade requests and explain ward charges differences for patients/next-of-kin requesting to upgrade/downgrade between private and subsidised wards so as to ensure government subsidies are utilised appropriately
