Job summary

ILLUMINA SINGAPORE PTE. LTD. is seeking an Optics Engineer to support product transfer into manufacturing, conduct data analysis, and apply statistical methods to improve product quality and reduce costs.

Qualifications

• Experience in optical systems or optics-related manufacturing engineering.
• Proficient in optical measurement tools and independent test setups.
• Proficient in engineering drawings and 2D CAD.
• Experience managing supplier deliverables and resolving issues.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
• Team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Familiar with Zemax, CodeV, LabVIEW, Python, SAP and PLM systems.
• Demonstrates safety/compliance discipline.

Responsibilities

• Support and drive product transfer into manufacturing.
• Perform data trending and analysis.
• Apply FMEA, DOE, and statistical analysis to optimize product quality and reduce costs.
• Drive process improvements, cost reduction, and product sustaining activities.
• Manage Engineering Change Request and Notifications (CRs and CNs), including updates to work instructions and test requirements.
• Support documentation: engineering drawings, BOMs, test reports, assembly procedures, and validation plans.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence programs.
• Frequent cross-functional collaboration and occasional travel to other sites.
