Job summary

The National Forwarder (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. is seeking a detail-oriented Airfreight Operations Coordinator to manage daily imports from arrival to delivery, liaising with airlines, agents and customers to ensure smooth clearance and timely delivery.

You will handle import documentation, TradeNet filings, customs compliance and billing coordination while maintaining records in the Freight Management System and supporting a high-velocity shipping environment.

Qualifications

• Relevant educational qualifications in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or related discipline preferred.
• Candidates with relevant operational experience will also be considered.
• Familiarity with airfreight documentation and customs procedures is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage daily air import shipments from pre-arrival to final delivery.
• Liaise with airlines, overseas agents, customers, transporters and authorities to ensure smooth cargo clearance and delivery.
• Monitor flight arrivals, shipment status and cargo availability, providing timely updates to customers.
• Prepare and process import shipping documents including AWB, arrival notices and delivery orders.
• Handle customs declarations and TradeNet import clearance.
• Arrange cargo collection and coordinate transportation for final delivery.
• Resolve shipment discrepancies and other operational issues promptly.
• Maintain shipment records and update the Freight Management System (FMS).
• Coordinate with Accounts on billing and shipment-related charges.

What You Will Be Doing

• Coordinate and manage daily air import shipments from pre-arrival to final delivery.
• Liaise with airlines, overseas agents, customers, transporters and relevant authorities to ensure smooth cargo clearance and delivery.
• Monitor flight arrivals, shipment status and cargo availability, providing timely updates to customers.
• Prepare, verify and process import shipping documents, including Air Waybills (AWB), arrival notices and delivery orders.
• Handle customs declarations and coordinate import permit applications through TradeNet, ensuring compliance with Singapore Customs regulations.
• Arrange cargo collection from airlines and ground handling agents, and coordinate transportation for final delivery.
• Resolve shipment discrepancies, delays, cargo shortfalls and other operational issues promptly.
• Maintain accurate shipment records, update the Freight Management System (FMS) and ensure timely job closure.
• Coordinate with the Accounts Department on billing, disbursements and shipment-related charges.
• Perform other operational and administrative duties as assigned.

What We Are Looking For

• Relevant educational qualifications in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related discipline are preferred. Candidates with relevant operational experience will also be considered.
• Prior experience in airfreight forwarding operations is advantageous. Candidates with relevant logistics experience and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.
• Familiarity with airfreight documentation, customs procedures, TradeNet and import clearance processes would be an advantage.
• Good coordination, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple shipments and work efficiently under tight deadlines.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills when dealing with customers, airlines and transporters.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and willingness to learn freight management systems.
• Detail-oriented, responsible and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
• A proactive attitude and willingness to take ownership of shipments from arrival to delivery.
