About the role
As an Operations Engineer at Geektronics, you'll be the front line of technical support for our clients — diagnosing issues, keeping systems and networks running smoothly, and helping deliver IT infrastructure projects from planning through rollout. You'll work across hardware, software, and networking, with in-person support at client sites across Singapore. Fresh graduates are welcome; structured training is provided to build up your skills in networking, systems administration, and ticketing workflows.
Key responsibilities
- Provide Level 1 and Level 2 technical support via phone, chat, ticketing system, and on-site visits, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, network, and connectivity issues.
- Log and manage incidents and service requests in JIRA (or equivalent ticketing system), maintaining clear documentation of issues, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions; escalate to Level 3 support where necessary.
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Deploy, configure, and maintain Windows and macOS systems and applications; perform routine hardware maintenance and software housekeeping, including patching and updates.
- Administer Network-Attached Storage systems, including shared folders, user access permissions, and backup monitoring.
- Support and manage Mobile Device Management (MDM) platforms for company and client devices.
- Support IT infrastructure deployment projects, system rollouts, and new office setups.
- Maintain technical documentation, including network diagrams, system configurations, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Provide training for end-users on system usage and IT best practices.
- Travel to client sites across Singapore to provide hands‑on technical support and project implementation.
About you
- ITE / Diploma in Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred but not essential; equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
- Fresh graduates with a strong aptitude for IT are welcome — training will be provided to build up to Level 2 support and network configuration work.
- Prior experience in IT support, network engineering, or customer‑facing technical roles is an advantage, particularly hands‑on exposure to routers, switches, or firewalls.
- CompTIA A+/Network+, CCNA, or equivalent certifications are a plus, though not required.
- Experience configuring or designing workflows in JIRA or a similar ticketing system will be an advantage.
- Fluent in English, with proficiency in Mandarin required to communicate effectively with Mandarin‑speaking clients.
- Willingness to travel on‑site to client locations across Singapore; possession of a valid driver's licence or own transport is an advantage.
