Job summary

OCO Info Comm Pte Ltd seeks a Junior Infrastructure Engineer to support daily IT operations and customer projects in Singapore. You will work with senior engineers to maintain servers, networks, and cloud environments, while learning through hands‑on tasks and guidance.

The role offers broad exposure to enterprise infrastructure, cloud computing, networking, and security. Ideal for fresh graduates or junior engineers who want to develop practical skills.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Network Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline.
• Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
• Candidates with 1–2 years experience in IT support, system administration, cloud operations, network support, or infrastructure implementation are preferred.
• Certifications such as AWS Cloud Practitioner, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, CCNA, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, Red Hat, or Linux certifications would be advantageous but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily health checks on servers, network devices, applications, backups, and monitoring systems.
• Monitor infrastructure alerts and service availability using tools such as CloudWatch, or equivalent platforms.
• Carry out routine Linux and Windows server administration.
• Perform OS patching, software updates, account administration, log reviews, and capacity checks.
• Check backup jobs and assist with backup restoration and recovery testing.
• Investigate infrastructure alerts and resolve basic incidents per procedures.
• Escalate complex incidents to senior engineers with clear diagnostics.
• Maintain incident records and follow cases through to resolution.
• Assist with preventive maintenance and infrastructure housekeeping.
• Assist with installation and configuration of physical and virtual servers.
• Support deployment of systems in AWS, Azure, customer data centers, and office environments.
• Assist with network implementation, including switches, firewalls, VPNs, VLANs, routing, and IP addressing.
• Support monitoring, logging, backup, security and management solutions.
• Assist with Linux and Windows migrations, upgrades, and system replacements.
• Support cloud, container, Kubernetes, IoT, AI infrastructure, and cybersecurity projects.
• Participate in testing, UAT, commissioning, and handover.
• Attend customer sites for installation, troubleshooting or testing.

We design, implement, secure, and maintain technology environments for customers across Singapore and Southeast Asia. Our projects cover on-premises data centers, AWS and Microsoft Azure cloud platforms, Linux and Windows servers, networking, cybersecurity hardening, monitoring systems, container platforms, and AI computing infrastructure.

We are looking for Junior Infrastructure Engineers to support our daily infrastructure operations and customer implementation projects.

Position Overview

As a Junior Infrastructure Engineer, you will work with senior engineers and project managers to maintain internal and customer IT infrastructure, troubleshoot technical issues, and implement new systems.

This is a hands-on position suitable for fresh graduates or junior engineers who want broad exposure to enterprise infrastructure, cloud computing, networking, cybersecurity, and system integration.

Training and guidance will be provided. However, candidates should be willing to learn independently, perform technical research, document their work, and take ownership of assigned tasks.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Operations and Maintenance

• Perform daily health checks on servers, network devices, applications, backups, and monitoring systems.
• Monitor infrastructure alerts and service availability using tools such as CloudWatch, or equivalent platforms.
• Carry out routine Linux and Windows server administration.
• Perform operating system patching, software updates, account administration, log reviews, and capacity checks.
• Check backup jobs and assist with backup restoration and recovery testing.
• Investigate infrastructure alerts and resolve basic incidents according to established procedures.
• Escalate complex incidents to senior engineers while providing clear diagnostic information.
• Maintain incident records and follow assigned cases through to resolution.
• Assist with preventive maintenance and infrastructure housekeeping.

Project Implementation

• Assist with the installation and configuration of physical and virtual servers.
• Support the deployment of systems in AWS, Microsoft Azure, customer data centers, and office environments.
• Assist with network implementation, including switches, firewalls, VPNs, VLANs, routing, and IP addressing.
• Support the deployment of monitoring, logging, backup, security, and infrastructure management solutions.
• Assist with Linux and Windows server migrations, upgrades, and system replacements.
• Support cloud, container, Kubernetes, IoT, AI infrastructure, and cybersecurity implementation projects.
• Participate in system testing, user acceptance testing, commissioning, and project handover.
• Attend customer sites when physical installation, troubleshooting, or testing is required.
• Work with vendors, customers, software developers, and other project stakeholders.

Security and Compliance

• Assist with operating system hardening based on CIS Benchmarks and company security standards.
• Perform basic vulnerability remediation and verify the implementation of security patches.
• Review system and security logs for unusual activities.
• Support firewall rules, access controls, VPN connectivity, antivirus, endpoint protection, and security monitoring.
• Follow change-management, access-control, data-protection, and information-security procedures.
• Assist with the collection of technical evidence for security reviews, audits, and compliance activities.

Documentation and Reporting

• Prepare and maintain system configuration documents, network diagrams, asset records, and implementation checklists.
• Record commands, configuration changes, test results, and troubleshooting actions clearly.
• Create and update standard operating procedures and technical knowledge-base articles.
• Prepare maintenance reports, incident summaries, and project implementation records.
• Ensure customer credentials, configurations, and confidential information are handled securely.
• Provide clear progress updates and promptly report technical risks or delays.

Technical Skills

Candidates should have foundational knowledge in some of the following areas. Training will be provided for technologies in which the candidate has limited experience.

• Linux administration, such as Red Hat Enterprise Linux, CentOS Linux, Ubuntu, or Amazon Linux.
• Microsoft Windows Server and basic Active Directory administration.
• TCP/IP networking, DNS, DHCP, routing, VLANs, VPNs, and firewall concepts.
• Virtualization technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, or KVM.
• AWS or Microsoft Azure cloud fundamentals.
• Server hardware, storage, RAID, backup, and recovery concepts.
• Infrastructure monitoring and log-management concepts.
• Basic cybersecurity principles, operating-system hardening, patching, and access control.
• Basic scripting using Bash, PowerShell, or Python.
• Containers, Docker, Kubernetes, databases, or web servers would be advantageous.

Working Arrangements

• Location: Singapore
• Employment type: Full-time
• Work may be performed from the company office, customer sites, data centers, or remotely, depending on project requirements.
• Occasional evening or weekend work may be required for planned maintenance and production implementation.
• Any on-call or after-hours support arrangement will be communicated separately.
