Job summary

SIN CHEW WOODPAQ PTE LTD in Singapore is seeking a capable Logistics Operations Controller to manage daily scheduling, fleet allocation and coordination with service departments. • Singaporean only.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in logistics operation and fleet control.
• Proficient in English and Mandarin for liaison with Mandarin-speaking colleagues and clients.
• Able to work independently with minimum supervision and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with customer service to plan and arrange job schedules.
• Plan and set daily activity priorities including deployments of daily operation staff and heavy vehicles.
• Oversee submission of name lists and other documents for pre-job clearance.
• Coordinate with trailer & crane subcontractors as needed.
• Ensure job requirements are clearly communicated to stakeholders.
• Monitor daily jobs to ensure completion on time and up to service standards.
• Track drivers' movements using GPS system.
• Prepare all DOs and safety documents for jobs.
• Coordinate with warehouse for incoming/outgoing cargo.
• Arrange drivers for material/equipment collection.
• Collaborate with other controllers for efficient coordination.
• Arrange manpower for safety rectifications.
• Coordinate training scheduling and overtime with HR.

Job Description:

1. Work closely with customer service department on job arrangement
2. Plan and set priorities for daily activities efficiently, including:
3. Daily operation staff and fleet (heavy vehicles) deployments
4. Oversee the submission of name list and other documents for pre-job clearance
5. Arrange and co-ordinate with trailer & crane subcontractor, if necessary
6. Ensure that all job requirements are properly arranged and clearly disseminated to the relevant stakeholders
7. Monitor daily jobs completion, ensure that all jobs are completed on time and up to service standards
8. Monitor drivers' movement through GPS Tracking System
9. Ensure all job documentation including DO and job-related safety documents are prepared properly
10. Coordinate with warehouse for all incoming and outgoing cargo
11. Arrange drivers for purchasing/collecting of materials/equipment
12. Work closely with other controller for efficient coordination of jobs arrangement
13. Arrange manpower for any safety findings rectification
14. Work with Human Resource on training scheduling and overtime matters for operations staff
15. Any other ad-hoc duties assigned by superior

Requirements:

• Singaporeans Only.
• Min Diploma in Logistic/Transportation or equivalent
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in logistics operation and fleet control preferred, but not a must
• Familiar with Singapore roads to assign jobs for drivers
• Is proficient in English and able to speak Mandarin as this position require to liaise and work closely with Mandarin speaking colleagues and clients.
• Able to work independently with minimum supervision as well as a team player
• Meticulous, pro-active and high sense of responsibility
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• PC literate and proficient in MS Office Excel and Outlook
• Must be able to work beyond working hours to complete daily work schedules, when necessary
• Able and willing to work 5.5days work week
