Qualifications

• Background in Humanities, Computer Science, Social Sciences, Mass Communications, or Legal Studies; strong interest in online safety and knowledge of how online platforms operate.
• At least 2 years of experience in Public Policy, Online Content Regulation, Online Trust and Safety, Horizon Scanning, or Strategic Futures work is advantageous.
• Strong analytical, inter-personal, and writing skills; resilience and commitment to self-care to handle exposure to graphic content.

Responsibilities

• Proactive case evaluation: respond to stakeholder reports and public feedback on online content in a high-volume environment.
• Harm assessment: conduct rigorous assessments of potentially harmful material with a mandate to act swiftly when necessary.
• Multi-party negotiation: negotiate with industry players and coordinate with the Whole of Government to deliver victim relief in cases involving online harm.
• On-call accountability: commit to weekend on-call duty at least once a month.
