Job summary

Info-communications Media Development Authority (IMDA) is seeking an policy-oriented professional to advance measures against telecom and media scams. The role involves analyzing regulatory issues, proposing robust policy responses, and coordinating with government agencies and industry partners.

You will work on developing new safeguards, evaluating program effectiveness, and advising IMDA teams on policy directions in the fast-changing infocomm and media landscape in Singapore.

Qualifications

• Background in Computer Science, Engineering, Cyber-security or Public Policy.
• Strong understanding of online harms and scams in telecom and media sectors.
• Strong analytical abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent presentation skills.
• Resourceful, proactive self-starter with analytical and creative mind.
• Result- and stakeholder-oriented with multitasking capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Devise and implement measures to strengthen telecom and media channels against scammers.
• Propose and administer grants or programs to build industry capabilities to detect and disable scams.
• Engage industry to explore new ways and tech to clamp down on scams.
• Conduct robust policy analysis on scams in telecom and media sectors; seek multiple perspectives.
• Collaborate with other government agencies and industry to ensure mitigation measures are effective.
• Advise other IMDA units on existing policy positions and new areas in telecom and media space for scams.
