Job summary

The Salvation Army Peacehaven Nursing Home is seeking dedicated nursing staff to support residents across daily care and clinical tasks. You will assist in feeding, hygiene, mobility, monitoring vital signs, and medication assistance under supervision.

The role requires adherence to care standards and confidentiality, with an emphasis on safety and compassionate service. Working hours total 44 per week over six days, with shifts from morning, evening, and night, located at 9 Upper Changi Road

Qualifications

• ITE WS certificate or equivalent nursing qualification.
• Diploma in Nursing or Higher/Nitec in Nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support residents' needs and ensure safety during care.
• Observe residents and monitor vital signs, report abnormalities.
• Perform basic nursing duties (feeding, bathing, mobility, hygiene).
• Assist with medication administration and last offices.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper equipment in the care area.
• Document nursing care accurately and keep resident information confidential.

Job Description

Main Duties and Responsibilities

1. Support staff in caring for the residents under their charge according to the training received.
2. To ensure schedule of residents' needs are adhered to and engaged residents in Docusign Envelope
3. To ensure residents' safety and observe any abnormality including monitoring of behaviour of concern.
4. Responsible for maintaining the standards of care according to the policies and procedures of the Organisation.

Clinical Care

1. Provide support and assistance to nursing staff in the delivery of resident care services.
2. To assist the Staff Nurse in nursing procedures upon successful completion of ITE COJTC
3. Closely observe residents through frequent rounds and monitor residents' vital signs and report any abnormality to staff in-charge.
4. Perform basic nursing duties such as, nasogastric feeding, bathing and toileting, wound dressing, blood glucose monitoring, vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse and temperature.
5. Feed, bathe and assist residents who have problems with mobility or are bedridden. Ensure safe transfer to and from bed and wheelchair.
6. Assist and supervise the personal hygiene, oral toilet, bathing and grooming, e.g. trim nails, changing diapers, etc.
7. Ensure safety of residents.
8. Assist with residents' nutrition and hydration, including tube-feeding, after completion of the COJTC.
9. Assist and participate in residents' recreational, occupational and social programmes.
10. Assist in serving medication.
11. Assist in last offices.

Quality

1. Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of beds, bedside cabinet, over-bed tables and chairs e.g. Making beds, routine cleaning, placing dirty and soiled linen into laundry bags.
2. Tidy treatment room and check equipment are in working order.
3. Maintain inventory of equipment and report spoilt items for repair.

Administration

1. Document accurately the nursing care rendered and keep all information related to the residents in confidence.

Others

1. Adhere to Peacehaven's policy on confidentiality.
2. Assist the Trained Staff in maintaining safe work practices and assist in ensuringa safe working environment that meets required standards
3. Observe and work within the policy, philosophy and procedures set out within the nursing home facility.
4. Attend staff meetings whenever possible and actively participate in communication processes.
5. Any other duties consistent with total care of residents and as directed by the incharge of the Residents Living Area/Home

Working Hours

The total work hours is 44 hours, working 6 days per week.

Under normal circumstances the hours of duty will be as follows:

07:00 am to 03:00 pm (45 minutes lunch break) or

01:00 pm to 09:00 pm (45 minutes dinner break) or

09:00 pm to 07:00 am (1 hour supper break) (1 hour lunch break)
