Job summary

The Salvation Army, Singapore – Peacehaven Nursing Home, invites applications for an Occupational Therapist to lead and deliver resident-centered OT services at our Peacehaven Nursing Home in Singapore. The role focuses on coordinating services, supervising therapy and nursing staff, and ensuring standards align with MOH and our Mission.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy
• Full registration with APHC
• Experience in supervisory roles within OT is desirable

Responsibilities

• Administer occupational therapy services aligned with The Salvation Army's Mission and Philosophy of Care; provide resident-centered care.
• Coordinate OT services by supervising, monitoring and educating therapy and nursing staff.
• Implement and continually improve standards of care meeting MOH and The Salvation Army requirements.
• Assess and develop individualized music therapy programs for residents.
• Evaluate and document OT needs and progress; monitor training programs and effectiveness.
• Refer residents to specialists for consultation and intervention.
• Train and supervise caregivers/volunteers in OT program maintenance.
• Plan and schedule therapy staff training to ensure high performance

Job Description

• To administer occupational therapy services aligned with The Salvation Army's Mission and Philosophy of Care. Provide resident-centered care focusing on their comfort and health.
• To coordinate and ensure appropriate occupational therapy services by supervising, monitoring and educating therapy and nursing staff.
• Implement and continuously improve standards of care and service that meet or exceed Ministry of Health and The Salvation Army's required levels of performance.
• Assess and identify individual needs of residents and formulate/develop and implement appropriate individualised music therapeutic programs.
• Evaluate and document residents' occupation therapy needs and progress at regular intervals, monitor training programs and review its effectiveness.
• Refer residents to the respective specialists for consultation and appropriate intervention.
• Train and supervise caregivers/volunteers in the maintenance of occupational therapy programs.
• Plan and schedule therapy care staff for relevant training in order to excel in their duties.

Working Hours

Under normal circumstances the hours of duty will be as follows:
