Job summary

Mission Group is hiring Assistant Restaurant Managers across multiple concepts to support daily operations and lead front-of-house teams in delivering exceptional guest experiences. You will help with staffing, training, service standards, and collaboration with kitchen teams while upholding the group’s hospitality excellence.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a supervisory or management role within restaurants, hotels, or the wider hospitality industry is preferred.
• Experience in managing daily restaurant operations, leading service teams, and maintaining high hospitality standards.
• A genuine passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate, guide, and develop a diverse team.
• Confident in handling guest feedback, resolving service issues, and making sound operational decisions.
• Good understanding of restaurant operations, including service standards, manpower planning, inventory control, and cost management.

Responsibilities

• Support the Restaurant Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring smooth and efficient service at all times.
• Lead, motivate, and support the front of house team in delivering warm, attentive, and consistent hospitality.
• Maintain high standards of service, presentation, cleanliness, and overall guest experience in line with the restaurant’s concept and brand identity.
• Be actively involved in daily service, providing guidance and support to the team during both peak and quieter periods.
• Ensure all team members are familiar with menu offerings, service procedures, and the restaurant’s standards of hospitality.
• Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure effective communication, smooth service flow, and timely food delivery.
• Monitor guest feedback and address enquiries, requests, and service recovery situations professionally and promptly.
• Assist with staff scheduling, manpower planning, attendance, and daily deployment to ensure adequate operational coverage.
• Support the training, coaching, and development of team members to build a strong, motivated, and service-oriented team.
• Assist with inventory management, stock control, ordering, and monitoring of operational supplies to minimise wastage and maintain cost efficiency.
• Monitor daily sales, operating expenses, and other key performance indicators to support the restaurant’s business objectives.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, workplace safety, hygiene, and other relevant operational requirements.
• Assist with administrative duties, operational reports, cash handling, and end-of-day reconciliation when required.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, service standards, and the overall guest experience.
• Work collaboratively with the Restaurant Manager and other Mission Group teams to implement operational initiatives and maintain consistency across the business.
• Support opening and closing procedures and take ownership of operational matters in the Restaurant Manager’s absence when required.
