Beca Carter Hollings & Ferner (S.E.Asia) Pte Ltd in Singapore seeks an Executive Engineer – Mechanical (Building Services) to join our Building Services team. You will design, lead and deliver mechanical building services projects for diverse clients across the Asia Pacific while collaborating with a network of engineers.

The role requires a mechanical engineering degree, 3+ years in building services design, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Degree in mechanical engineering recognised by PE board; Singapore qualification preferred.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in design and supervision of building service projects; senior for 5+ years.
• Experience in consultancy environment.
• Experience leading design and design management of healthcare, residential, commercial, institutional or hotel projects is an advantage.
• Familiar with codes of practice, regulations, and authority submission procedures.
• Proficient with BIM and engineering software; Navisworks experience.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Able to work independently with initiative.
• Strong delegation and communication skills; team and delivery focus.

Responsibilities

• Carry out engineering design with minimal supervision per local and international codes.
• Take increasing scope and complexity in tasks.
• Produce design, tender documents, proposals and technical reports.
• Coordinate QA and commissioning with other disciplines and design consultants.
• Observe, review and report on site works.
• Liaise with clients and provide regular reporting.
• Provide leadership on projects including planning, monitoring and cost reporting.
• Assist in assessing designs prepared by others for clients.
• Liaise with authorities on plans submission and approvals.
• Collaborate with QP to develop mechanical building services designs and calculations.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible to:

• Carry out engineering design with minimal supervision in accordance with local codes or relevant international design code and standards

• Assume responsibility and undertake engineering tasks of increasing scope and complexity

• Responsible for analysis of information, production of design, tenders, proposals and technical report writing

• Assist in coordination of quality assurance and commissioning of designs with other disciplines and other design consultants

• Observe, review and report of works on site

• Handle client liaison and reporting

• Provide leadership to projects including planning, monitoring, progress and job cost reporting

• Assist in assessment and review of designs prepared by others on behalf of the clients

• Liaise with authorities on plans submission and compliance

• To work with the Qualified Person (QP) to develop mechanical building services designs and calculations

Key Requirements

• Degree in a Mechanical Engineering recognised by Professional Engineers Board, Singapore will be an advantage

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in the design & supervision of building service projects (Those with 5 years’ experience and/or Certified Professional Engineers will be considered for a senior position).

• Experience in a consultancy environment

• Experience in leading roles for design & design management of healthcare, residential, commercial, institutional or hotel projects will be an advantage

• Familiarity with codes of practice, relevant regulations and a working knowledge of authority submission and approval procedures

• Competent user of relevant engineering software, Building Information Modelling and Navisworks

• Excellent written & spoken communication skills in English

• Able to work independently & exercise initiative
