Job summary

Beca is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer – System Engineer to join our Singapore team. You will design, build, test, and maintain automated workflows and data models for engineering and project delivery, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure production-ready tools that meet quality standards.

With 5–10 years in systems engineering and enterprise automation, you will translate requirements into reliable workflows and contribute to continuous improvement across client projects.

• Collaborate with engineering teams to refine requirements and ensure tools meet operational needs.
• Develop and maintain automated document-handling processes, data pipelines and notifications.
• Support deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management of digital solutions across projects.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible to:

• Design, build, and maintain digital automation solutions, including workflow logic, data models, and intelligent agents that support engineering and project delivery.
• Produce complete digital solution deliverables: workflow logic, technical documentation, data schemas, test plans, and integration specifications.
• Analyse and translate engineering and operational requirements into practical automation workflows and agent behaviours.
• Conduct structured testing, QA reviews, and validation of digital tools to ensure reliability, correctness, and production readiness.
• Troubleshoot system behaviour across integrated digital workflows and enterprise data sources; identify root causes and implement fixes.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to refine requirements, align solution design, and ensure tools meet operational needs.
• Develop and maintain automated document‑handling processes, notifications, and data pipelines that improve team efficiency.
• Ensure all workflows, agents, and data models comply with organisational quality standards, security requirements, and platform best practices.
• Continuously improve existing digital tools; challenge legacy or manual processes and propose automation opportunities.
• Support deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management of digital solutions across multiple engineering projects.
• Provide technical guidance to colleagues on digital tool usage, automation patterns, and best‑practice implementation.

Key Requirements

• Degree in engineering, computer science, information systems, or equivalent practical experience in digital solution development.
• 5–10 years experience in systems engineering, QA, workflow automation, or enterprise digital solution delivery.
• Strong technical capability in:
• Data modelling and API integration, with experience structuring relational datasets and connecting enterprise systems
• Intelligent assistant and agent development, including conversational logic, retrieval workflows, and task‑oriented automation
• Enterprise content and document management, including automated processing, classification, and lifecycle handling
• Demonstrated experience delivering production‑ready digital tools in multidisciplinary environments (e.g., defence, aerospace, healthcare, infrastructure).
• Ability to analyse requirements, design logical workflows, and translate operational needs into reliable automation.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with engineering teams, digital specialists, and project stakeholders.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset; able to question assumptions, refine requirements, and propose practical improvements.
