Job summary

SG Shipping Private Ltd. in Singapore is seeking a Commercial Manager to drive revenue growth across SG Group entities, win new business, and convert idle tonnage into contracted charters.

The role focuses on deal origination and closing, reporting to the Head of Commercial and collaborating with Operations, Technical, Finance and legal advisers to secure profitable chartering opportunities.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Maritime Studies, Business, Shipping, Logistics, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Working knowledge of charter party structures and commercial terms; BIMCO SUPPLYTIME/BARECON is a plus.
• Proficiency in MS Office, Google Suite and CRM software; ability to build costing models in Excel.

Responsibilities

• Identify, qualify and convert new commercial opportunities across SG Group entities – offshore, harbour craft, and related services.
• Lead the commercial response to tenders, RFQs and quotation requests with scoping, costing, pricing and submission.
• Develop entry into adjacent service lines with market sizing and go-to-market approach.
• Represent SG Group at industry events and maintain visibility with key decision makers in the Singapore port ecosystem.
• Own fleet utilisation metrics and return idle tonnage to revenue-earning service.
• Prepare charter economics and present recommendations with a clear commercial rationale.
• Ensure quotations are costed against defensible breakeven thresholds; support contract execution and records.
