Role Overview
The Marine Process Engineer will be responsible for the design, optimization, and integration of marine and topside process systems for an FPSO project. This role involves ensuring compliance with international standards, safety regulations, and project specifications while supporting engineering, procurement, and commissioning activities.
Please note this is a 6 - 9 mont contract
Key Responsibilities
Process Design & Analysis
- Develop and review process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) for marine systems (ballast, bilge, cargo handling, produced water, etc.)
- Perform hydraulic calculations, heat and material balances, and sizing of equipment for marine systems
- Ensure proper integration between marine systems and topside process facilities
Engineering & Documentation
- Prepare technical specifications, datasheets, and design reports for marine process equipment
- Review vendor documents and ensure compliance with project requirements
- Support HAZOP, HAZID, and other safety reviews
Project Execution
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (structural, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation) to ensure seamless design
- Provide technical support during fabrication, installation, and commissioning phases
- Troubleshoot process issues and propose optimization solutions
Compliance & Standards
- Ensure designs meet international codes (IMO, SOLAS, MARPOL) and classification society requirements (ABS, DNV, Lloyd’s Register)
- Adhere to company and client engineering standards and safety guidelines
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or related discipline
- Minimum 5 years in process engineering within oil & gas, preferably FPSO or offshore projects
- Strong knowledge of marine systems and topside process integration
- Proficiency in process simulation tools (Aspen HYSYS, UniSim)
- Familiarity with marine regulations and classification society rules
