Job summary

Direct Search Global is seeking an Operations Coordinator to support daily marine operations and purchasing activities in Singapore. The role involves sourcing equipment and services, processing purchase orders and coordinating deliveries to vessels and customers.

Ideal candidates have 2–4 years of experience in marine operations, procurement, ship supplies or logistics, with strong negotiation and organizational skills and proficiency in English.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Maritime Studies, Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration or a related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day marine operational activities and respond promptly to vessel and customer requirements.
• Source marine equipment, spare parts, stores and services from approved suppliers.
• Obtain and evaluate quotations based on price, quality, availability and delivery schedules.
• Prepare purchase orders and ensure the necessary approvals are obtained.
• Coordinate deliveries with suppliers, vessels, agents, logistics providers and other stakeholders.
• Monitor order status and ensure goods and services are delivered within the required timeframe.
• Verify delivery orders, invoices and supporting documents against purchase orders.
• Maintain accurate purchasing, inventory and operational records.
• Monitor stock levels and assist with replenishment planning.
• Build and maintain effective working relationships with vendors and service providers.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms and delivery arrangements where required.
• Resolve delivery delays, supply discrepancies and other operational issues.
• Support vendor evaluation and maintain an updated supplier database.
• Assist with cost monitoring and identify opportunities to improve procurement efficiency.
• Ensure purchasing and operational activities comply with company procedures and safety requirements.
• Provide administrative and coordination support to the operations team as required.
