Job summary

Frencken Mechatronics in Singapore seeks a proactive engineer to monitor and improve production performance on high-precision assemblies. You will provide hands-on technical support, lead root-cause analyses, and drive corrective actions for production and quality issues.

You will develop efficient layouts and workstations, create vital manufacturing documents, and participate in audits and NPI activities. Travel may be required for supplier and customer engagements.

Qualifications

• Proficient with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of BOM structure and GD&T basics.
• Able to read mechanical drawings with GD&T understanding.
• Solidworks knowledge is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and improve production performance including yield, FPY, scrap, and rework.
• Provide hands-on technical support to resolve assembly and testing issues.
• Lead RCA and 8D for production and quality issues.
• Develop and maintain production layouts, processes, and workstations.
• Create and control WI, PF, PCP, and PFMEA documents.
• Conduct cycle time studies, capacity analysis, and line balancing.
• Design and release jigs, fixtures, and tools for assembly and testing.
• Drive cost reduction and productivity initiatives.
• Train operators and technicians on new processes and tools.
• Support audits and NPI documentation review.

Job Description

• Monitor and improve production performance including yield, FPY, scrap, and rework.
• Provide hands‑on technical support to resolve assembly and testing issues on production modules.
• Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) and provide technical evaluation for product acceptance or rejection.
• Liaise with customers and cross‑functional teams to resolve technical issues and ensure timely closure. Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions (8D) for production and quality issues.
• Develop, implement, and maintain production layouts, assembly processes, and workstations to support efficient manufacturing.
• Create, update, and control manufacturing documents including Work Instructions (WI), Process Flow (PF), Process Control Plan (PCP), and PFMEA.
• Conduct cycle time studies, capacity analysis, and line balancing to meet production demand.
• Design, review, and release jigs, fixtures, and special tools to support assembly and testing operations.
• Drive process improvement initiatives focusing on productivity, quality, delivery, and cost reduction.
• Train and guide operators and technicians on new processes, tools, and work instructions.
• Manage production special tooling and coordinate facility maintenance when required.
• Provide technical input for DFM/DFA reviews with customers and internal teams.
• Support internal, external, and customer audits (ISO and customer‑specific requirements).
• Support New Product Introduction (NPI) on documentation and technical review.
• Contribute to cost reduction initiatives through process optimization and design‑for‑manufacturing improvements.
• Able to travel overseas when required.
• Perform ad‑hoc engineering assignments as assigned.
• Define preventive maintenance (PM) requirements.

Requirements

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• SolidWorks knowledge is an added advantage.
• Strong troubleshooting and technical problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of Bill of Materials (BOM) structure.
• Able to read mechanical drawings with basic understanding of GD&T.
